Taftoon Bar and Kitchen | BKC | foodiefat

#foodiefat - Taftoon is located at BKC, serves traditional eastern food from Kabul to Bengal dated back till 16th Century cuisine, Taftoon relives and presents us with the same. They have a pretty lit ambience, spacious seating arrangements. Valet Parking facility available. Loved the way we were greeted with an exotic welcome drink #Kashmiri Khava a good start before the scrumptious meal ahead.

The following delicacies were tasted.


APPETISERS


Soya Chaap

This is the best soya recipe ever tasted, loved the squishy soya chunks marinated in yoghurt made it juicier, it was very soft to bite and melted in the mouth.

Lipta Jhinga

Prawns wrapped withing chicken sheets, brushed with mustard, concept is very nice, but prawns tasted a bit salty and tough.

Chukander - E - Shami

Beetroot never tasted so exotic and delicious, a banarasi dish where grated beetroot stuffed with cheese and yoghurt, shaped in a Tikki, cooked on tawa, kebabs were very tender and squishy it really tasted good.

Galauti Kebabs

Soft, flavourful, minced lean mutton blended with smoked brown onion paste, slow cooked on Mahi tawa.


Taftoon Pe Harissa (Mushroom)

A Special technique where harissa paste is smeared on taftaan, slow-cooked beautifully presented at the end drizzled with truffle oil.

Chicken Pakodey

Ladakhi dish tender boneless chicken pieces fried, to me this dish resembled me as chicken Manchurian.

Fish Kobiraji

Local Bengali fish Bekti fried beautifully, supple from the inside served with fried egg net very crispy got well with the fresh fish.

MAINS


Murg Rezala

Beautiful chicken pieces dipped in smooth coconut and cashew gravy, the dish tasted a bit blunt, I love the things cooked in coconut gravy this can be more filled with taste.


Goalondo Steamer Curry

Succulent chicken pieces very well textured and flavoured with organic products done with the traditional method, loved the whole dish.

DESSERT

Shufta

I can just say felt royal while having this dessert, mango ice-cream sided in a bowl filled with apricot, cashews, dried coconut, pistachios and sultanas tossed in ghee and stewed in Kashmiri honey. Basically its an royal chikki.


Kaju Ki kulfi, Anjeer ka falooda

Basic malai kulfi served with rabdi and falooda, tasted beautiful.
